The ground rules for using DiceCam while it's in beta and beyond.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TheDiceCam ("DiceCam", "we", "us") — including our website, desktop application, and browser extension (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
DiceCam is currently in beta. That means the Service is still under active development, may contain bugs, may change or be interrupted without notice, and may not always detect rolls correctly. Features described on this website are goals and works in progress, and may change or be removed before general release.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use DiceCam for your own tabletop gaming. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
You agree not to:
DiceCam connects to third-party platforms such as Roll20 and D&D Beyond, and relies on services such as Discord. We don't control those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
You are responsible for the camera and environment you use with DiceCam. As described in our Privacy Policy, dice detection runs locally on your device and camera frames are not uploaded to us. You retain any rights you have in your own setup, dice, and gameplay.
The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content (excluding third-party marks and your own content), is owned by TheDiceCam and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that roll detection will be accurate in every case. Accuracy figures stated on this website are targets based on our testing and are not guarantees.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheDiceCam and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, including incorrectly detected rolls. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access to the Service, in whole or in part, at any time during beta, including to fix problems, ship changes, or address misuse.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves, particularly as DiceCam moves from beta to general release. When we do, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which TheDiceCam operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Confirm and insert your governing jurisdiction before launch.]
